Raj Kishor Mahto, Village Nawadih para District Lohardaga completed graduation from BS collage Loghardaga. He was growing vegetables by conventional method but he was not doing better in vegetable cultivation due to unaware of scientific cultivation. He came in contact of KVK Lohardaga and proper technological support and knowledge of scientific vegetable cultivation. He started his own nursery and produced various types of vegetable under protected cultivations. Now he is applying poly mulching in vegetable crops for conserving soil moisture, and using fertilizer through fertigation method. For saving water he used drip irrigation in entire vegetable field. He is making Jeevamrit, Ghanjeevamrit and use in vegetable production. He developed bio- pesticide name as “Dush Parmmi Ark.” This ark is being used in their field for controlling inset and pest. This is used by bio-fertigation or drip method. No infestation occurred in field after application of dush parmmi ark. He saved Rs. 2 lakh by using “Dush Parmmi Ark”. Increasing their net income of Rs. 4 lakh/ year by decreasing the cost of vegetable cultivation. He established nursery for supply ready saplings of tomato, cauliflower, brinjal and ornamental flowers and also produced “Jeevamirt”, “Dush Parmmi Ark”, vermi-compost to supply other farmers.
Description of innovative Practice/Technology
Raj Kishor Mahto involved in promotion of organic vegetable farming. He started preparation of solution by using cow dung and cow urine. He has making Jeevamrit and uses it in vegetable production. He has also developed Bio Pesticide name as “Dush Parmmi Ark” this ark is being use in their field for controlling insect pest. This Ark serves a dual purpose; it increases soil health and also controls pests. Mr. Mahto describes the preparation of one drum (200 Lt.) of the “Dush Parmmi Ark” salutation. The require ingredients - 10 types of leaves (i.e. Sindhwar, Akwan, Dhatura, Sarifa, Belpatra, Gendapata, Neempata, Aam, Amrud, Bajhatu leaves) @2 kg of each, 20 lt. of cow urine, 1kg cow dung, 10 gm hing, past of Ginger, Turmeric, Garlic, Chilli @ ½ kg of each spices. Grind and mix all well, then keep in a airtight container for 40 days for fermentation. After 40 days solution will be ready for spraying.

झारख.ड राज्य का लोहरदÛा जिला ,क आदिवासी बहुल {ो= है इस जिले में आदिवासियों की जीविका खेती पर निर्भर है। यहाँ लाल, बालुवाई, दोमट मिट्टी पाई जाती है। यहाँ की मुख्य फसल धान, मक्का ,वं Ûेहूँ है।15-20 सालों पूर्व मड़ुवा की खेती काफी मा=ा में की जाती थी। लेकिन इन दिनों इसकी खेती नÛ.य हो Ûई है। किसान जल्द ,वं ज्यादा मुनाफा पाने की वजह से नÛदी फसल लेने लÛे है। जिसके कार.ा मड़ुवा की खेती पर बुरा असर पड़ने लÛा ,वं मड़ुवा की खेती विलुप्तप्राय होने लÛी है। यह स्थिति देख कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र ने आदिवासी बहुल इलाकों में जाकर किसानों को प्र’िा{ा.ा के माध्यम से मड़ुवा की वैज्ञानिक तरीके से खेती करने ,वं {ो=फल बढ़ाने को लेकर उन्हें पे्ररित किया साथ में मड़ुवा के हमारे जीवन में औषधीय फायदे भी बतलाये Ûये। इतना ही नहीं उन्हें कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्र की ओर से अÛ्रिम पंक्ति प्रत्य{ा.ा के }ारा उन्हें मड़ुवा की उन्नत किस्म । 404, टस् 347 दी Ûई। जिसका उत्पादन {ामता काफी सराहनीय था। किसान इस उन्नत किस्म के बीज पाकर काफी खु’ा ,वं प्रोत्साहित हु,। वे मडु़वा की वैज्ञानिक ढंÛ से खेती करने के }ारा उन्हें अपनी स्थानीय किस्म की तुलना में दुÛुना उपज प्राप्त हुआ। मड़ुवा की ज्यादा पैदावार ,वं उसके फायदे को देखते हु, अब पहले की अपे{ाा ज्यादा किसान इसकी खेती करने लÛे। इस तरह मड़ुवा की खेती का {ो=फल बढ़ Ûया। निम्न किसानों ने इसकी सफलता पूर्वक खेती कर लाभान्वित हु,:- बालमुनी कुमारी, विमला देवी, मिला देवी, जोखना उराँव, बलदेव उराँव, Ûोन्द्रा उराँव, जुरा उराँव, Ûोविन्द उराँव, बन्धु उराँव विरेन्द्र उराँव, प्रवी.ा लकड़ा आदि।
